New to me, at least. And those blasted whitewalls are off too. I think it looks sharper without ‘em.

Going Beaver

I’ll be honest. It took me a while to accept the color orange. Initially I had my heart set on grabber green, but driving around in an Orange car gets more looks.

Considering that, I decided to go for the orange and black look, inspired by the paint scheme of the grabbers. The grille originally was grey plastic, as was the sheet metal behind the bumper and the headlight covers. The tail light panel had quite a few dents, so I painted it black after doing the body work. Thus far, I think it looks pretty sharp.

So let’s get up to speed. Here are some photos taken throughout the year. I’m waiting for a sunny day to shoot some current pictures.

A Delayed Beginning

Before I begin, I feel obligated to apologize.

Firstly, I’ve been deep into the maverick project for several months now. I’ve only taken a few pictures here and there, most of which show the Mav 30% done already(by done I mean cleaned up, mostly). Back in March ’11 when I bought her, there was algae and moss in practically every crevice. The interior was completely pigged out. There was even broken glass in the back seat from a break in the apparently happened 2 years before. Put shortly, the car was a complete mess. I can post some pictures now, in it’s current condition, but they can never represent how far it’s already come.

Secondly, this may not follow any distinct chronological order. I tend to work eclectically, so don’t expect frequent or organized updates. I make no promises, only that progress will be made. So hold tight, and bear with me.
